Summary meeting in Spain (February 14th – February 18th 2022)

During the meeting in Sant Celoni the coordinators and teachers have discussed the further details of the Erasmus+ project  ”Europe Future – Skills” 2020 – 2023.

MONDAY

The first day started with the excursion around the L’Avet Roig school to get acknowledged with the way the students are studying, the way their ordinary school live is organised. Then each country made a short presentation about their country and school to make pupils get to know more about the places they came from.

After a small break, where students tried the sport activities provided by the local students, all the participants were split up into groups and played the icebreaking game (they created a mobile app as support of the game). That helped not only to know each other better, but also this game made everyone to get acknowledged with the culture of Sant Celoni and traditions of catalans.

The great appreciation was the meeting with the Mayor of Sant Celoni at Bernat Martorell. He inspired the students with the motivating speech.

Then all the participants proceeded to the restaurant, where had a great possibility to try typical catalan food.

TUESDAY

On Tuesday the workshops from Germany and Spain were provided.

The workshop of German team was connected with creative thinking. Students made the ducks or Lego with the aim to understand that everyone is different and the style of thinking also may differ. After that all the participants were divided into the groups and were suggested to make a tower from spaghetti and marshmallow using adaptive and creative thinking, so that the tower would be stable and high.

After the break there was an interesting workshop from Spanish team: entrepreneurship and leadership.

The students had several challenges: to think over the needs of the future society as to the skills that will be demanded in the future, to discuss with the others and then to get to one idea with something with a physical form that represent that idea.

Then students presented their creating to make the others understand their thoughts.

After that there was a dissemination of the project at the radio station with Celia from Catalonia and Lydia from Greek team. Here is the interview.

WEDNESDAY

The third day was spent with the aim to learn about the country. The whole group travelled to Barcelona with its fabolous views and cultural heritage.

The first place to visit was the Guell Park. We could find out the history of the park, to know better the lyfebeing of Antonio Gaudi and to look around the great architectual buildings.

Then we proceeded to the famous Sagrada Familia, where had divided into the groups and had the presentation of this marvellous place from the Spanish students.

After the lunch, the group went to the one of the famous places in Barcelona – La Rambla. Spanish students prepared a lot of interesting facts and stories about this place, so the trip was not only fun and interesting, but also full of new useful knowledge.

THURSDAY

From the morning teachers and students went to the classes to see which way the skills are taught to the children.

There was a possibility to attend robotics class, where through collaboration, knowledge and logical thinking students had to move the robot from the start point to finish. Then the English class with a game of aking choice, so that the whole team shoud discuss and think over their decision and consequences that this decision may cause. Below each situation there were a lot of life skills to discuss.

The third class – the class of skills. Students made selftests to understand for themselves, which skills and things about their future job are important.

After the break there was a workshop provided by Estonian team: group work methods and team building techniques.

The students and the teachers were working in groups and in certain time period should choose the skills they are good at, to put the right description and then to decide, which skilss are certainly important in the future. The groups made placats and showed also their creativity in making and presenting their thoughts.

The day ended with a trip to Palamos and fishing museum. The participants tried the fish dishes cooked from local fish and also with a huge interest listened to the guides in the museum, to find out more facts about the life of fishermen.

FRIDAY

The last day of the mobility in Spain was full of events.

The students had the assesment game to prepare conclusions. The groups put in the “suitcases” things that had learned during this weekend and the skilss that are in demand in future.

Then each group presented their conclusion and evaluated the week spent.

During the students break there was a coordinators meeting to negotiate all the important aspects.

After the presentations the participants had a great possibility to take part in biological experiment DNA extraction and observation in the laboratory. They had a chance to see the DNA of fruits.

Then the group moved to the fantastic lunch provided by parents. The tables were full of the national tasty food, so everyone was satisfied.

In the end of the lunch there was a cultural event hosted by parents association. Everyone could enjoy the local dances.

The week was amazing with its friendly and warm atmosphere. Everyone could feel as a paer of a great team. And definetely the knowledge got will be useful in our student’s life.
